Mission of Hall Community Service

The Hall Community Service Program encourages all students to participate in volunteer activities which improve the lives of others outside our school community.

Program Guidelines

What is Community Service at Hall?

  • Volunteering with organizations and at events, or initiating projects that help others in need.
  • On campus community service opportunities include: making posters for Hall Walkathon and SPARK Fun Run; setting up and tearing down Cove and Neil Cummins Holiday Store; campus clean-up. For more current volunteering options to explore, click here.

What is not Community Service at Hall?

  • Student-to-student tutoring during advisory
  • Leadership Class activities during school hours
  • Helping family members with household chores or babysitting
  • In school teacher-led community service events like Valentine's Day card making
  • Community service as a consequence of misconduct

How do I record my completed hours?

  • Fill out the Community Service Hours Submission Form. You can download it to your computer, fill it out and turn it into the office by May 16, 2025
  • This form is also available in the Hall office.
  • Don’t forget to get the signature of a supervising adult or parent.
  • Complete hours between August 2024 - May 2025

    Volunteer Match - Find a cause that lights you up. Get in touch with a charity that needs your help.

    Corte Madera Teen Library Advisory - Get your voice heard at the library. Plan events and programs, recommend material, and help meet the needs of your peers. Call Sarah 415-924-6444

    Courageous Cupcake Stand for Pediatric Cancer - Bake and sell cupcakes to fund Joy Jars filled with hospital approved toys, games, and activities that are sent to kids fighting cancer. Mini cupcake prep kits available.

    Glide Memorial Church - Serve the homeless in San Francisco. Make a plan with a group or your family.

    Golden Gate National Parks Conservatory - Lend a hand with habitat restoration and trail maintenance while enjoying the scenery of the Golden Gate National Parks.

    Hooves for Harmony - Help build confidence and create small miracles for children with special needs through the gift of therapeutic horseback riding. Contact: Heather Parker 530-410-4422

    Locks of Love - Donate an 8 inch or longer lock of hair to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss.

    Marin Audubon Society - Assist with planting local native plants to restore two local habitat sites, Triangle Marsh in Corte Madera and Bahia in Novato.

    Marin County Parks - Join a team working to remove invasive species, collect seeds, and install native plants in an effort to restore unique ecosystems and enrich native habitats throughout Marin County.

    Marin Youth Services - Join MAYA (Marin Against Youth Abuse), a youth organization focused on issues of gender equity and teen dating abuse. You will be trained as a peer counselor and healthy relationship advocate.

    Marin Food Bank - Help sort produce, package bulk foods, and sort food drive donations at the warehouse in Novato. Contact: 415-883-1302

    Marin Food Bank at Holy Innocents Church, Corte Madera - Join other Hall students distribute food to families in need within the community. Thursdays after school until 5:45 p.m. No appointments taken. Questions? Contact Julie at 415-461-5157.

    Nepal Orphans Home - Create your own fundraiser to help this orphanage in Kathmandu care for its children and support others in need throughout Nepal. Contact annemccadden@mac.com

    Rec Inc - Play wiffleball with the Wildcats, help out at Movie Night, a Friday night dance or play basketball with the Seals. http://signup.com/go/AKsgysP

    Ritter Center - Help those who are living in poverty or homeless in Marin by volunteering at the food pantry in San Rafael. Contact: Shaun Marshall 415-457-8182 x109

    Special Olympics of Northern California - Help with competitions at Special Olympics events in the Bay Area or provide fundraising or office support.

    St. Vincent De Paul Society Free Dining Room - Volunteer at (or donate food for) the St. Vincent Free Dining Room which serves 500 hot meals a day. Contact: Alex 415-454-3303

    WildCare - WildCare’s Young Adult and Community Service Volunteer Programs enable young people to be proactive in environmental endeavors.
